This years Summer Ball was again held at Wantage Civic Hall on Friday 3rd August and was attended by 150 people, all dressed to impress.

Guests were from all walks of life including Police, Fire Service & Ambulance staff, local business owners, local councillors, Shadow Minister for Culture & MP for Wantage; Ed Vaisey & of course local people wanting to show support and out for a good nights entertainment.

The evening included a cuisine buffet, comedian and the highly popular band ‘Fastlane’ who performed non-stop until 1am. A raffle saw such prizes to be won including a flat-screen TV and family tickets to Drayton Manor Theme Park & Cotswold Wildlife Park.

We are pleased to announce that due to the success of the Ball, Wantage 999 Emergency Services Charity are able to help the family of a local 8 year old girl who unfortunately is suffering acute Leukemia and is   currently undergoing treatment at Oxfords John Radcliffe Hospital. To help with the costs involved in making the expensive daily trips to the hospital and back, we are providing a petrol fund with the kind support and extra donation from Broadway Motors. This will hopefully help the family with the extra expense.

All three services recently gathered at Broadway Motors of    Wantage to finalize the fund with the girl and her family also attending. The family were able to see inside the three Emergency vehicles that took part in the photo. Full details of the fund will be in the local press soon.

Our thanks again go to John Smith of Broadway Motors for his help and Ed Vaisey (Shadow Minister for Culture & MP for  Wantage) who’s continued help and support with the Wantage 999 Emergency Services Charity is invaluable.
